1Pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Season inside and out with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and seasoned salt.
2Pour water and liquid smoke (if using) into the Ninja Foodi main pot. Place chicken in the air fryer basket over the water. Pressure cook on HIGH for 15 minutes, then quick release.
3Remove chicken and discard water. Brush chicken with a mixture of 2 tbsp melted butter, a pinch of garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
4Return chicken to the basket and select 'Air Crisp' at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes. Baste occasionally with remaining butter for golden, crispy skin.
5Check internal temperature – must reach at least 165°F (74°C) in the breast or between thigh and body. Cover with foil and let rest. For sauce: add 2 tbsp butter and flour to the Foodi pot with drippings. Press 'Sauté', then gradually whisk in chicken broth until thickened.
