🥘 Ingredients

sponge cake slices (or ladyfingers) — 4 (about 4 oz / 115 g)
scoops of vanilla ice cream — 4 (about 1 pint / 475 ml)
egg whites (from large eggs) — 2 (about 2 oz / 60 g)
sugar — 80 g (about 2.8 oz)
teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) — 1 (about 5 ml)

👨‍🍳 Steps

1Cut the sponge cake into rounds or shapes matching the ice cream scoops. Keep refrigerated.
2Form 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream and place each on a sponge cake slice. Freeze until solid.
3Beat egg whites to stiff peaks, gradually adding sugar, then vanilla extract. The meringue should be glossy and firm.
4Completely cover each ice cream scoop with meringue, sealing well.
5Place in the air fryer basket and cook at 200°C (400°F) for 3-4 minutes, watching until meringue is golden.
