Air Fryer Cornish Hens with New Potatoes

🥘 Ingredients

Cornish hen (about 680g / 1.5 lb), thawed — 1
new potatoes — 680 g (1.5 lb)
butter, at room temperature — 75 g (5.3 tbsp)
garlic powder — 1/2 teaspoon
onion powder — 1/4 teaspoon
smoked paprika — 1/4 teaspoon
Italian seasoning — 1 1/2 teaspoons
dried parsley — 1/2 teaspoon
olive oil — 1 tablespoon
salt and pepper to taste

👨‍🍳 Steps

1Pat the hen dry with paper towels. Season the cavity generously with salt and pepper.
2In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning, and dried parsley. Spread half the mixture over the outside of the hen.
3Toss the new potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, and the remaining 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning until well coated.
4Place the hen breast-side down in the air fryer basket and arrange the potatoes around it. Cook at 175°C (350°F) for 10 minutes.
5Turn the hen breast-side up. Cook for another 10 minutes, then brush with the remaining herb butter. Continue cooking for 10 more minutes, or until the internal temperature at the thigh reaches 74°C (165°F). Let rest 5 minutes before carving and serving.
