cod fillets (or other white fish), ~1.5 lbs — 3 pieces
butter — 3 tablespoons
lemon slices — 3
salt — 1 teaspoon
black pepper — 1/2 teaspoon
non-stick cooking spray (optional) — as needed

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.

Lightly grease the basket with cooking spray (if using). Place fish fillets in a single layer.

Season each fillet with salt and pepper. Top with a pat of butter and a lemon slice.

Cook for 10-13 minutes, depending on thickness. Fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork.

Serve with tartar sauce and/or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
