- 3 tbsp sugar;
- 80ml (2.5fl oz) milk;
- 80ml (2.5fl oz) cream;
- 2 eggs;
- 6 slices from a loaf of Italian bread, cut into 4cm (1½”) thick sticks;
- Icing sugar and maple syrup for serving.
