Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds;
  • Vegetable oil cooking spray;
  • 4 chicken drumsticks (about 450g | 1lb);
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil;
  • 1 tbsp warm water;
  • 1 tbsp honey;
  • 4 tsp rice vinegar;
  • 4 tsp soy sauce;
  • 4 tbsp gochujang paste.

Instructions

  1. Whisk together gochujang paste, soy sauce, vinegar, honey, water, and toasted sesame oil in a shallow dish.
  2. Add chicken pieces to the marinade, turning to coat. Cover and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  3. Remove from the fridge and let stand at room temperature for 20 minutes.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F. Remove chicken from the marinade and spray all over with cooking spray. Arrange drumsticks in a single layer (you may need to work in batches).
  5. Cook for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through the cooking process, until drumsticks register 165°F on a meat thermometer.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds.
