  • 4 slices of bread;
  • 4 slices of ham;
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your favorite);
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened;
  • Optional: mustard or mayonnaise for spreading.

  1. If desired, spread a thin layer of mustard or mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
